Tomorrow I leave to go to the Birds New Zealand Conference, then a few weeks later I head over to Queensland so I thought I better make a travel blog. I prefer this blog at loooottt more but it is hard to post to when I am on the go, so, this extra blog I set up posting by email and blah blah blah. I'll just give you the link and stop talking boring non-sense warthrusheswanderings.blogspot.co.nz
I am pretty sure though that most readers would like to hear about de birds I have seen recently. Honestly I have not seen many but I'll try to show some pics!

Australian Wood Ducks!!! Yes I went and saw them again. I managed to spot the pair and a male and another female, which I would think are their grown young.
So there was a report of a possible Spot-billed Duck, quite close in Marlborough so my parents said, we should go and check it out, sooo we did even though I doubted it greatly. In the end I saw it, but not well enough, in saying that though, I think I have a good shot of the bird from a previous visit to the spot and then IDed it as a mallard, but I should take an extra look.
I saw my first White Heron for the year then though! Also looked for the Black Kite but only found GREAT views of a New Zealand Pipit.
