So, last week I bought a Sigma DG 120-400mm 1:4.5-5.6 APO HSM. It is quite nice for the price I got it! Much better than my old lens.
So I went to the lake to try it out. There were lots of ducks around, including a pair of New Zealand Scaup! They came really near so I got some good shots. It was a bit cloudy though.
Then I spotted a South Island Kaka up a really tall beech tree. He was right at the top, so no shots.
On Thursday, we went shopping in Richmond so I went to Rough Island to look for waders and things. Nothing interesting but there was a Caspian Tern or two flying around a lot.\.
Also, as we were driving, mum saw a Varible Oystercatcher quite close, so we stopped. It was making a lot of noise so I guessed they had nest on the beach. Then I saw it alot closer! It was about a foot from the road. She is going to have a very stressful time.
