Wellington again! Last week I visited Wellington, sadly i did not get to most the spots i wanted to get to but did manage to get to two spots. On the day we arrived I went to Zealandia to get YEAR BIRDS (!!!)with Wellington young birder George Hobson (His blog here). Sadly I somehow missed the Brown Teal and South Island Takahe so hopefully I'll add them later in the year. But I did see the usual Red Crowned Kakariki, Whitehead, North Island Kaka and the rest. Along with a mallard with a wing molt I cannot remember seeing before, a young House Sparrow being feed (actually there were a few sub-adult sparrows), and a Spotted Skink. Oh yes and there was the #BellbirdJump The next day I went and did a ranger for a day at Nga Manu in Waikanae. There I helped out with the feed out tour, eel feeding, and I got to hold a Adorable young Kereru among other things, it was really cool! I also got to see my first Eastern Rosella which was pretty cool too. The pics are all off my tablet so the shots are not the best sadly! On my last day in Wellington I went for a quick visit to Pauatahanui Inlet (where I saw my first Australasian Shoveler when I was younger), with a friend of one of my cousins who is a year younger than me. We only visited two of the hides due to it being very hot. I let here take some shots on my cam, below are her shots.

Thanks! I have enjoyed designing it. Yes I was very happy to place 2nd in the Contest!! It was a very good experience and I learned a ton. I am going to compete this next year as well. The only thing that I have found on my website builder which is close to subscribing is a google+ follow button. That might work. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
